uk rex steering wheel change

hiya guys

i have got a question.

i want to change my steering wheel on my uk rex however i want to keep my cruise control is there anyway that i can change it for an aftermarket wheel and still keep my cruise.

any help would be brilliant cause im baffled now.

Hi

I changed my wheel and had to relocate my cruise controls, only two wires.
its and easy job to do, just pick a place to put the controls.
Mine are on the right hand side of the center colume near the hand brake, in front of the gear stick I got handy with a dremel and sank them into the center console.
I can take a pic if you want?
The door is another good spot but I could not be bothered with trying to get the wires through to the door.

I\'ve been thinking about this also.

Please can you post a pic of your relocation of the controls, the steering wheel is massive, I had a little RE:A one in my first Jap RX and it was great.

yeh mate that would be brilliant cause it is really doin my head in the size of the wheel have you kept the original controls connsole or just used the buttons.

hi Guys I will take some pics today and post them as soon as I can find my USB cable for my camera.

I kept the original buttons but not the full caseing the only thiing thats pops out of the center console are the three buttons.


I do a lot of motorway travel which is why I kept them.

I have not been to one yet as my car wants a little work still doing on it, new FMIC, apexi PFC, reposistioning of air filters.

I may have seen you the other day  in middleton, I was in a Latics driver training car, and I saw a rather nice black RX7 at the main juction which leads to foxdenton lane.

If you need some help when you come to do let me know I can show you what needs doing.

I will take some pics first mate.

you will have seen my mate dave. his is a single turbo that was advertised on here by sterte garage.

i have seen that learner car knockin about around middleton before. mine is a red uk spec rex.

that would be brilliant if you could mate i have been lookin at gettin a wheel today asoon as i get it i wil give you a shout.

the mods your doing sound good mate next time i go up to the northern meet i wil giv you a shout and see if fancy comin.

I like your wheel very nice.

You will probably see a lot more of Latics cars around Mid now as the company is growing.

I do a lot of work around Mid so will probably see you about.

I m going to pop out shortly to take some pics of the relocation I did for the buttons.

When you remove your old wheel you will see how easy it is move the cruise control.

ANyway keep me posted on when you get a wheel and I can help.

no rpobs mate cheers for this the wheel is off ebay hopefully if i win it it should be here in about a week or something but i have got some other stuff to sort first.

i wil give you a shout when i get it mate.

Not he best pic but as you know space is limited.

It sits between the gear stick and hand brake,

thats brilliant cheers mate i can see wot you mean now with the buttons.
