Can anyone give me some advice.

I recently had my gen 2 egi mot\'d and ever since it won\'t idle properly when it is up to normal running temprature.

It appears to be idling low/rough at around 600rpm, (hunting) and when you let off the throttle when you have been driving the rev\'s drop as low as 400rpm.

I am wondering if they have adjusted anything during the mot to get it through the emissions.  They haven\'t said they adjusted anything but I didn\'t have this problem before the mot.

Does anyone have any ideas.

Maybe one of the vacuum pipes got knocked off? Have a close look for anything loose where they might have been fiddling!

Have had a good look around engine, nothing obvious.

In addition to this when you slowly increase the revs, when you reach around 1200-1300 rpm the engine starts to hunt quite dramatically (rising & falling by 300-400rpm), and when you increase the revs further to 2000 it stops hunting.  It\'s the same when slowly lowering the revs.

Help and ideas please!!

You have to look behind the engine.

The hose from solenoid valve to manifold that responsible for idle speed is on the back of the manifold.

this is the hose, where the check valve is connected to. When the hose is OK, than check the valve. The air should flow only from the solenoid valve to manifold.

l think before geting too involved it would be an idea to go back to the MOT station and find out what they tampered with !

I have already spoken to the mot centre and they have told me that they didn\'t touch/adjust anything on the car.
