Hi guys.

I have been thinking about the possabilities of transplanting a renesis in place of the current 13b..... ;)  I have been told that this is possable as the engine is the same size (not sure about the mounting points??)

However....This will make virtually no difference to the fuel consumption as there will be MUCH less torque.  This will also affect the performance of the car.  So I thought, no problem, cant we plumb in the twin tubby setup that im already using on my current?? Aparantely not, the new Renesis is weaker and can only hold a maximum of 5psi boost?? :(

Is this so?? I thought I was on to a good thing (imagining 231 bhp then turbo on top of that!!)  I was hoping I could do this as you can buy a brand spanking new Renesis from Mazda for £4k!!!

Probably good for more than 5 psi altho its obviously built as an N/A and has higher compression rotors than the turbo lumps.

However, the FD turbo pack wont fit -  the RX8 uses side port exhausts unlike the FD which has peripheral exhaust ports...

If you speak to Tim or any of the boys over at RX Motors he has just installed a Greedy turbo package on his RX8 with good results.

Tim (RX Motors) and Geff (RE:Worx) installed the Greddy turbo kit on Tim\'s RX8 at our place, initial results on the dyno are very impressive, plenty of testing and tuning to be done still, should be soonish from what Tim and Geff were saying earlier at the workshop.

But its not an FD 13B turbo thats for sure. Not yet any way :)

A lot of money and a lot of trouble to put a renesis engine in an fd3:confused:

Just single turbo yours, porting etc.

Dan!!
Turned into the worst part of my life....my precious fd3 has gone, but never forgotten....roll on a new life!!!!
