Anyone know a source of information where i can find out what gearboxes i can put in my 12a turbo?I was recommended a Toyota Corona gearbox but i) i don\'t fancy a 4-speed ii)i guess their availability is quite limited over here anyway.I was looking at an aussie site,can\'t remember which(half asleep as usual)had Corona gearboxes,as well as 5-speed Supra boxes. That sounds more like it!So what would i need to do to fit one,if i obtained one?My original box must be on it\'s way out,it\'s done 26k since she got her turbo, and 95k in total...It sounds hideously complicated trying to get a 2nd gen box in,though i know a few that have had it done.

Hi, I used to run a supra 5 speed in my 1300 coupe, and that was behind a reasonably serious 13bturbo. They are a very strong box but you would need a adaptor plate which could either come in the form of a plate which bolts between the box\'s main body and a proper bell housing. Or you can buy a cast alloy bell housing to fit the supra box and that in turn will fit straight up to your motor. Be carefull if you are after a supra box as there are quite a few different types of them out there and some are better than others.
The corona box\'x are renowned for their strength but as you have stated you dont want a 4 speed.
Why do you think it would be too hard to fit a gen 2 box?
good luck with it all and I hope this helps.

Thanks for that!I think Racing Beat used to sell 2nd gen gearbox adaptors, but i probably dreamed that. What clutch were you using in your 1300?I have an EGI item at the moment, just wondering what i\'d need to do if i did get a Supra box in there.I guess the one to go for is the n/a 2nd gen Supra 3.0 box?(not a Celica Supra...mmmmmmmmm:D )They should be relatively easy to get hold of,i\'d have thought.
