so stupid question as i\'m not overly familiar with them are they liek a sponge thing? Guess it\'s best just to replace them then presuming you can get sponges replaced i did on my HKS ones, think yer supposed to every 15k or sumin off the top of my head on those & was around £30 (again dont quote me on that just ball park figures out my fuzzy head lol)
Although i know you can get cleaning kits for the foam ones from halfords et al i never really fancied that infact a mate cleaned my old ones with some stuff he uses on lorries but for the sake of a few quid i went for proper replacements, anyhow gob shyte mode off if not & they\'re metal cleaning should be even easier......

I have found a link on here for someone who is selling a pair,
http://www.mazdarotaryclub.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=11519

They are like a gause, I read some where that they are made to be cleaned but I cant remember what with:(

And I have not been able to find replacments gause/foam things even though I have looked on the net.

I may try one of these kits from halfrauds, but I did not want to reck them cleaning them.

Depending on the fitment you can actually get the "sponge" section out and put it through the washing machine to clean.

I have the HKS single large filter and have 2 sponge sections which i put through the wash when required:)

I think there should be a screw at the front of the filter casing which you can open then pull out the filter sponge.

not the same thou Gurj mate check out http://www.mkiv.com/techarticles/filters_test/2/ for reviews etc looks like that apexi one is good for life. If it\'s just a bit covered in smeg you could try blowing it off with an air line or sumin?
Thought you\'d got a new one Gurj i always thought keep washing them removes the oil stuff they have on them & thus affects the filtration level.......?

Scooby, that is a handy site :), I will just get them blown at my local garage to clean them, what a surprise life time usage.

I have the apexi filters, i used the K&N recharge cleaning kit on them. It took alot of crap out of them looks like new, you can pick this up from like halfords.

use like warm water on like a shower head or something.

if really dirty, dip them in fresh fuel a couple of times and hang them on the washing line, then spray that special grease on them and they will be  like new. I did it to my crossmotors filter after every ride.

With steel filters you can also use a toothbrush to get heavy dirt of. Al ways pay attention when putting into fuel that you put them in with the coupler opening up and not in the fuel. Otherwise you\'ll get the dirt on the inside -> not good
