car is running a exedy racing clutch and have noticed when moving car out of drive or holding biting point when cold there is a screeching/scraping  sort of noise and can also be felt through the clutch pedal...am i right in saying when clutch is depressed the flywheel is clamped and as u let up cluch it releases the flywheel via the release bearing or is it the reverse of is(not sure)is it poss that clutch is not releasing cleanly.car has stood for past 9-10 weeks at bodyshop and only driven about 150miles since.is it poss clutch is sticking

i\'ll watch with interest as mine (also exeddy) does simolar thing often & kinda grinds a bit from cold coming out of garage & down tight drive (ie i\'m using bite point quite a lot to edge car forward slowly) but doesn\'t sound too fab at the time it doesn\'t last long so er to summarise dunno but hopefully all is well.......

si that sounds very similar once i start driving and using clutch properly no noise only when trying to hold biting point to move in and out or maybe edge the car under control then like 2 metal plates rubbing at speed and screeching..another fd quirk

I have the same clutch and exactly the same problems!!! is there any one out there that can help and let us know whats going on??

racing clutches do tend to make some noise, the oem clutches will have had a lot of time spent making them quiet and smooth enough. These considerations are not as much a factor when designing a racing clutch
