Not wanting to disagree with Mike,  I have had a cabrio and a coupe, neither had LSD,  I understood it was an optional extra from Mazda.   My mates T11 didnt have it either although it has now.   I may be wrong but mine definately didnt have it.

NB:  all 3rd gens have it.
400 BHP - 650 KG\'s = 616 BHP Per Ton of Rotary Power

That\'s the way to do it! :Thumbsup!

Hi guys,

How exactly would I know if my car has a LSD? And if it does how can I check if it\'s healthy/doing it\'s job? I drive a 1st gen 7. It\'s an \'83 (Aussie series 3) which as far as I know didn\'t come with an LSD, but I think it\'s had a back axle from a later model which did.

Am I right in thinking a LSD makes it more difficult to put the back end out of line when accelerating through turns?

Hoping you people who actually have a bit of mechanical knowledge can tell me ...... I can just about identify the steering wheel. Beyond that it\'s a bit more difficult!

was it just the US spec TII\'s that came with a LSD as standard then ? If it was an option from Mazda its likely to be quite rare as it probably cost megabucks !

Not sure about the US models.    I would have thought it was quite expensive.

As for finding out if its LSD, i was always told, jack it up so both driven wheels are off the floor.   Turn one wheel,  there should be a little resistence but the other wheel should turn the same way.  If it turns the opposite way it isnt.   But i may be wrong!
