Hip Hip Hooray,

I have just picked up my FD which has now had an intermediate on road map having had the full Hayward Ceramic rebuild with porting.

When I picked it up Carl suggested I take it out with him to see what it felt like.

I understand that for the moment I have a fairly safe boost setting of 0.7 bar till we go on the rolling road.

We drove off and immediately I could feel a big difference in the power......it lept forward in 1st, 2nd and then very good power from there on.

After a little burn, this is the first time I have pushed the car for several months what with the running in period and then having the injectors, fuel pump and regulator put in, Carl asked me........quite politely......if that was the way I always drove it.

He asked me to pull over and he got behind the wheel...........jeez that man can not only do a great engine rebuild but he sure can drive........the car rocketed down the road.

He really put the car through its paces and said that is the confidence that he has in his work...........gotta say that is the best seal of confidence I could hope for.........If I can drive the car like that and know that that is happily within it\'s capabilities then I am gonna have alot of fun.

When he handed the car back to me my balls felt as small as on an early morning dip in a Scandinavian fjord so I desperately tried a little justification of my driving skills then gave up and accepted that I have alot to learn about the new capabilities of the car I now have.

Thanks Carl.

I thought you were supposed to run it in before giving it some?

I think James has been running in for a few months now.  Just able to give it a blat again now.

James,
Can I be rude and ask how much the rebuild cost?  You say it;s ported, street or bridge, or have you gone even further... :D
