Not sure if anybody here will be able to answer this but i know a few of you have this bumper, or anybody who has has their early model FD bumper off may be able to help!

I had my 94 bumper off yesterday and tried lining my new FEED bumper up but there was a big gap because the light recess holes on the new bumper pushed it forward.

Now what exactly is this rebar that needs to be modified, is that the thin metal bracket sort of thing bolted to my 94 bumper when you take it off, or is it the big heavy looking thick metal thing bolted to the cars body??

If that makes no sense to anybody then i will try and get some pics.

Cheers

erm if it helps, read not 100% what extra support bars etc the early models have as standard, but here\'s what my front end looks like before the bumper etc was put on (OK the red things aint entirely standard http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008\' target=\'_blank\'>http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/5/5_2_105.gif\' border=0> lol)

NB that\'s a 96 which had a different bumper on to start with (yes before i tested the strength of fbreglass lol) so not sure what may or maynot of already been taken off.....

Cheers for the pic mate, figured out the thing i was looking at was plastic and not metal, however on your pic you appear to be missing it  it has holes in that the back of the turn signals go through, mite just be a bad angle or mite be because of your year of car like you say! :D

This is the thing that i thought was metal at first i was on about (because mine is black) but this has been cut slightly to fit intercooler. Note light holes, have you just taken yours off or has it been pinched? :p

the bumper that was & is on it uses the \'99 lights so guess it had to be removed if it was there anyway as they\'re a different shape.......
As i say thou dunno for sure it\'s how it came to a degree......

You remove the bumper zone section still attached in your recent pic then attach the FEED bumper (what I did).

I believe you can cut the bumper section down if you stiil want it behind the FEED bumper, but think of the weight you can save removing it!:D

Just bare in mind that whatever u chop out from behind the bumper will be some thing less for some thing hard to get thru before it snaps your legs in a shunt!

Out of interest, have you managed to source a genuine FEED front or is it a replica? I\'ve got a replica on order at the mo, just wondering what the fitment is like with yours (well, after you modify/remove the big fiberglass bumper thingy behind it).
