Ahhh, we have to have some secrets Maxim ;)

*thread hijack*
Speaking of the missus, is she good to get a lift at least part of the way to Trax in your motor? I think I can get her to shotgun to the M25 (if we go that way) in the red car but she wont do the trip to silverstone in it! :rollin

Triple rotors\' manifest themselves in both forms; \'converted\' 2 rotors or as you realise - in the shape of the \'mass production\' 20B 3 rotor as found in some of the JC Eunos Cosmo saloons that were supplied JDM-only.

Over the years Mazda has built a number of 3 and 4 rotor engines in various numbers. The 13G 3-rotor was used by raced by Mazda I think, being of the non-20B short cranked variety.

These days a number of people make custom cranks to enable the construction of 13G-esque 3 rotor engines from largely 13B parts. This saves weight as the 20B has a hunking great intermediate plate in order to house the additional bearing and provide room for the additional primary and secondary side ports. And also assists with weight distribution as the \'13G-type\' are a little shorter. The \'downside\' is the short crank motors are limited to peripheral intake ports for obviuos reasons...

Hi Rich,
The 13G engine had almost exactly the same dimensions as the 20b with the thick plate too.The only thing that made "Oh so very" slightly shorter is the front cover area being a little more compact.
Mazda them selves have NEVER made a shorter block.
Kind regards
Carl

Uggh, my bad - its been a while since of read about any of the \'exotic\' motors; I did think about that for a while too - shouldve checked it out - apologies. What sets the 13G apart from the 20B then? Were all 13Gs dry sumped out of interest (does that explain your shortly shorter length)?

As we are on the subject of multi rotors - how\'s the 4 coming on?

Hi Rich,
Yes they were/are all drysumped.
That is why they are slightly shorter.
My quad is coming along nicely thanks,how\'s your triple?

Kind regards
Carl

P.S. Friday should be good!Tim has torn his engine down and ported it more and rebuilt it!So between Him and Geff they should make some pretty major improvement.
Let\'s hope someone get\'s a 10!!!!!

I presumed the dry sump explained the length - do you know how much the mazdaspeed/racing dry sump kits go for these days? any others worth looking at?

Yes, tomorrow should be fun; Tim\'s had lost some compression so was off to rebuild her whenever it was last week I saw him at geffs; he said he was going to port her out some more this time :)

I think Geff is scared :D Both cars should have a real advantage over their previous outings though (and no, NO GAS in geff\'s case tomorrow), I really hope one of them does it - I will hopefully have the camcorder there to record it if it does happen...

I wonder if Brian will take his T51 up - should go alright!!

Pace do a good pump for the rotary (which I have on mine). You need to get some fabrication done, but the whole thing should cost around £600 for the engine, then obviously £££ for the tank and shiny aeroquip hoses.

Have a look in the \'other rotary\' forum, some pics there. I can take more if really interested.

Just realised I need to get up in 6 hours so nighty night.
