- 65K miles from new (likely to increase with daily use)
- Brilliant Black
- 10 Months MOT
- Service History up until 42K miles (home serviced from then on)
- Aftermarket 18in Alloy Wheels
- Racing Beat Cat-back Exhaust

I've owned this car for 14 months now and used it as a daily driver but a new job means that having a rotary powered daily isn't economically viable and I am switching it for a slightly more practical diesel. I bought the car with 48K miles on the clock from another local Rotary enthusiast who has a track record of buying non-running RX8s, repairing them and selling them on. He bought this one as a non runner and got it running again. When I bought it, it came with the following brand new parts:

- Brand new Catalytic convertor (sourced from MRP)
- Brand new Genuine Mazda Coils (sourced from MRP)
- 4 Brand new Plugs
- Brand new Magnecor Ignition Leads.

Unfortunately, I don't have the receipts for said items above. However, I do have this link to a thread detailing all of the work done along with pictures:

According to the thread above, the car had also had new pads and discs.

I had the engine compression tested by Kieth (mobile compression tester on fduk) just after I bought it. Both rotors were in and around the mid 7s. I haven't felt the need to do one since as there have been no problems starting the car.

I still use this car daily and it has been very reliable in all of the time that I have had it. The only two items I have had to replace in the past 14 months have been the exhaust that rusted away (which has been replaced with a Racing Beat Stainless cat-back which I bought from Tony on here) and the alternator. Other than that, all I have had to do is two oil changes and one spark plug change. It is probably due another spark plug change now.

The overall condition of the car is pretty good. There are a few marks on the bodywork. Rear bumper has a paint chip missing where I reversed into a bollard at KFC. There is also another scratch where some old boy reversed into me when I was parked outside a restaurant. Both mirrors have scratches. The underside is clean (I had a good look at the MOT) but there is some rust on the tailgate around the third brake light and also on the front wings where they meet the bumper. There are probably some other scratches, stone chips etc. Interior is fine - probably what I would expect for a car that has done 64K. Front tyres are good and rears will probably need replacing before the next MOT. I did MOT it two months ago and it sailed through.

Mechanically, the car is sound. Suspension and brakes are fine. The only thing I can think of mentioning is that the clutch release bearing is a little noisy. It has been like this for the past 6 months and hasn't got any worse.

Price wise, I would like £1200 which I think I am right in saying is the cheapest running 231ps RX8 in the UK for sale at the moment that doesnt have any starting issues.

:16: sorry to hear you are selling up Jit  :(

That seems a very fair price for the age, condition and mileage. GLWTS, but hope we might see you back on here with a rotary sometime in the future. Many people have sold up and then missed owning/driving a rotary after a while!

re japi

Yes, car look really good and doesnt cost alot :)
Power is nothing without control. Weight is enemy of performance, handling and braking.

Provisionally sold. It will be a great buy for someone. Just done another 100 mile round trip to put a deposit down on the replacement diesel bore wagon and didn't miss a beat.

Ah crap. Tried contacting you on driftworks, I'd have bought this and I'm local. Give me a shout if it falls through.
