Hi guys and gals,

I\'m after some help identifying a part. We have this loose in the engine bay and can\'t get hold of a service manual at the workshop they\'re taking too long to download.

Any ideas?

Thanks much in advance!

Im with Mikey T does look very similiar to a fuel pump resistor on ebay. I do some google images search.

on the fd and 8 its mounted in the gearbox tunnel but unsure on the fc...look it that area for unattached plug?

We\'re not convinced, granted the box bit does but the connectors and bracket are different. Any more for any more?

Little bit more info

Top is the fuel pump resistor - bottom is the part we\'re trying to ID. It came from the O/S front wheel arch area on the white car which was a manual if it makes any odds, we can\'t find a plug for it in the same area on the black car which was originally an auto..

That\'s the dip dim resistor for UK and Euro model cars - operates headlights in lower intensity mode when sides are selected and engine running

I wonder if the jap doesnt have it as when dip beam is on , im pretty sure its a bulb in the flash to pass lenses that lights up

The lights dont come up on a jap car with side lights like the UK ones do

and when you "flash" in a jap car the lights come up , flash and then drop

Where as a UK one just flash via the FTP lenses

Hmmmm it would be cool to have that on a UK car ( the flash bit ) wonder if its some fancy wiring or the headlight switch which is different ?

Ah, excellent. Thank you chaps. At least it\'s not vital for getting it running!

I\'ve got some replacements on the way - other than that just finishing off putting the interior back together properly and doing other little odds and sods of tidying up. Thanks man, mine are too!

my jdm fc has that too.

grinder: i changed my light unit (the one in the cluster that turns lights on) to a uk spec one and now when i flash the headlights do not pop up. so it seems to suggest the pop-up bit is all in that unit or at least is part of it?
