Hi Guy\'s trying to get all those annoying little leaks sorted!
It looks like my gearbox has been apart at some point but unfortunately not sealed up so well when reassembled. I would like to know about unbolting the rear section with the box in the car so I can split apart slightly and re-seal the offending bit? is this possible? Will things drop out of place or ping everywhere? Can anyone offer any info on this please and/or some pages from a owners manual might be useful.
The section leaking is where the box appears to have a 20mm section sandwiched between the front and rear ends of the box?

Thank you
Lee

Just rebuilt my box would recommend taking out of the car to reseal , I used mazdas own sealent too good stuff

That is the last thing I want to do. I have had the engine in and out more times than you can ever imagine recently!
If I can split it and support it all well and good as long as I know what will happen when I do? if it is a case that things will fall out with it in the orientation it is then fine it will have to come out at a later date.
I would only need to get a 10mm gap to clean and seal it.

Any more thoughts?

No need to take engine out just box very easy to do .

Need to take gear selector out then just unbolt it, nothing will fall out.

May be hard to get clean properly unless you have drained all oil out properly?

Cheers guys.. I will leave it to drain for the week and get some brake cleaner or similar to prepare it.
