No Spark to Engine

Hey folks, looking for some help in troubleshooting as my engine inst starting.

To give you an idea before it died on me I was having power loss in spikes between 1500-3000rpm and was having some difficulty cold starting and even more probs hot starting.

I started it one cold morning to have it cut out on me (after 5-10 second) of a successful start. The engine then would not start but was ticking over.

I thought that it might of flooded so followed de-flooding procedures to no avail. I cleaned the spark plugs and also replaced the battery. Ignition coils were changed about 3k ago.

When I crank the engine it gets close to starting but it doesn\'t quite catch. I had a friend disconnect the spark lead to check if it was sparking which he said it wasn\'t.

So I\'m trying to figure out where to go from here. Any suggestions on narrowing down the problem or possible resolutions would be greatly appreciated.

try another leading coil pack, looks like the coil has died

is it an Rx7 or rx8 bythe way?
