We are wanting to mount a 20b lower and further back in a FD, which means to get over the rear cross member of a subframe we need to build the pan to be shallow at the rear to clear.

Or put another way The stock 20b pan is shallow at the front (apart from the oil pickup recess) can this shape be turned around, leaving the shallow end at the back.

There would be fall from the rear into the main reservoir.

I have seen a picture of the defined auto works modified pan, and they chop out a section to clear the 13b stock frame, this is a similar idea, but it would be much shallower on the rear couple of inches.

Ignoring issues like capacity (which I will ensure we do not change), is there any other negative effects that could arise from this design?

Thanks,
James
