ok.. looks like i need some feedback from you guys to dispel some of the misinfo i see on some other sites regard to ecu numbers and markets

so.. needs guys with stockish FC\'s to look at the ecu case
( passenger foot well front ) .. and tell me what number it is the english delivered FCs bring

am expecting to see n322 on the NA with a dizzy .. am expecting n340 on the s4 turbo .. i expect neither car has a green two or one pin set couple connector to bridge near leading coils

let me know what you have and if you car is original english, imported, turbo and not.s4 or s5.....and if you found a set couple

Prof

My stock ECU was an N380 on a UK S5 Turbo II vert.  I think all the UK TII\'s were Series 5 cars as we didn\'t get them till a bit later.  The other number I\'ve seen on our cars is N374.

Near the leading coil pack we get a 6 pin connector (with only 3 wired connections), one is the check light for the ECU error codes, can\'t remember what the other 2 are for).  There is also a single green test connector - used for getting the error codes and for the \'initial set\'.  There is also a single black connector which is for \'tach\' take off measurments.

I\'m not sure on the EGI front - Brett is your man for the EGI\'s, but I can check the connectors on my lodgers car tonight, she has an EGI

but then i have a list of ( these are 13B Turbo ones )

I think these are Jap Spec ones

hmm . the problem is some of these lists are supposition,, i know there is several apparent errors in that last list
n320 - N322 .. with funky dizzy,, butterfly aux valves . 12V AFM and other instruments ( N249 and N304 throwback ecu type ) no cat,, a reaps stove and and no set couple is not really in dispute

also,, same for N370. N374. N380. N386
we all know as various s5.. all with set couple,, no dispute in that anyhwere
.. i expect by these years euro spec has caught up.. has the cat and may even use AWS

but its these N340 - N344 that are the issue
.. certainly cant see them being blanket 88-91 .. as looms change quite a bit for traditional market 89 models ( s5 first year in rest of the world )

looks like 87-88 jap /euro no AWS,, no set couple
.. but methinks further muddy happens as you brits may have got RHD jap s4 N340-N344 still in the official s5 yrs ..i wonder if anyone with a 89 over there has the N340 -N344 and still with the s4 turbine housing

the question remains,, need to find something that obviously uses the s4 turbo
( and inlet manifolds ) and get the ecu number .. and confirm that the 2pin or 1 pin green plug is not there at the leading coils
on some looms have to short the one wire earth,,others you bridge the twin plug,, as one side earths back in the loom

from where i stand atm..
it appears these set couples are only on AWS market equipt cars
,, and begs the question that the loom on cars without may infact be bridged at the ecu connector for those pins and this disables the AWS from playing the idle control.. and playing the ignition timing when rpms drop below 1000 ( or maybe 850 )

ie,, there is possibility that all ecus has AWS in it,, fitting the loom without the set couple puts it in disable

All the UK S5 models have AWS  (Acclerated Warmup Solenoid) and the ECU\'s had the defeat for that - start with the clutch down and not in Neutral.
