Hi,

My Rx8 231psi (04) engine is putting out low compression, I believe its 4 bar, I took it to a Mazda garage and they checked it etc and gave me a graph saying its 4 bars. I was possibly going to get a engine from Hurley motors (who from I can see have a very good reputation) Although i\'d like to know my other options?

Buy my rebuilt street port 13b (with warranty) and a ridiculous turbo for man powerz? :D

Well I guess my budget is £2500, I don\'t really drive much (I work at home) so im looking for sensible offers, of course i\'d love a nice big turbo, but its never going to be in my budget :P P.S im from Kenilworth not Coventry, but no one knows where that is so i say Coventry!

Well I\'m fobbing mine off for 2k with all ancillaries the only thing it\'s missing is the secondary fuel rail and anything after the exhaust ports. But hey, I probably shouldn\'t be hawking my crap here lol

I think a complete rebuild will run you more than 2.5k in all honesty. I paid out nearly 3k for mine to be rebuilt and that was at a reduced price!

Speedline Imports

Blown or just low on compression?  If the latter its probably suffering with bad carbon build up.

i have personally had bad experience with Hurley Engineering...
the best place is Hayward Rotary.
or on a budget RotaryMotion.

^ above is the best option. However, if you are near London, Powergains Motorsports is your best bet. Pip at WGT is also very reputable, that\'s if, you are near Birmingham or Manchester area.

Hurley Rotary are on your doorstep and do RX-8 rebuilds all day long.

On saying that I reckon you\'d need 3g for the rebuild, and that will be money you\'ll never get back when you come to sell.

Its an RX8, good chassis, not very good engine.

my RX8 had a Hurley Rebuild....all good no issues at all. sounds like you dont do too many miles.....is it worth getting her nice and warm on 2 hour blast down the motorway to burn the carbon off....
