got a cheapo boost gauge from ebay in the post today, i hooked it up quickly just to check boost levels and its reading........... over 15 PSI on first turbo then drops to 14 for the second and then to 15 again!! isnt this too high?!
i literally took of rubber cap from the intake manifold and put the vacline straight from that to the gauge then cable tied the line to the back of the gauge, but didnt clamp it to the mani. it was a snug fit anyway.
please tell me ive not set it up right as those pressure are wayyy to high arent they? thanks

Never use electrical boost gauges, only use vacuum boost gauges, a bad earth anywhere with an electrical gauge will cause an incorrect reading.

btw the car is as i know totally stock 1996 rs. the only modification is a racing beat cat back. surely this wouldnt increse the boost 5psi over stock?

it is a vacuum mechanical boost gauge buddy. no electrics atall.

Could the turbos possibly be aftermarket? Stock twins sholdnt be boosting to 15
Psi should they?? Any ideas anyone?

Is your car standard! If not it may have been set up this way

From what I know yes! Its a rx7 1996 type rs import. The only mod is a catback
Exhaust. Although ive been looking through the history and it says something
About a HKS turbo flange elbow?! Doesnt really make sense. Still boosting at 15 psi .....

Hi yes it peaks at around 17psi then pulls back to 15psi and maintains that
Pressure throughout. When I let of the gas it vacs at around -25
