Rotary Ends?

End of an era or the start of something new? Heard that Audi experimenting with rotary hybrid.

Quite a few firms are looking at the rotary as a small constant rpm power source to run a generator in the new hybrids.

I think it\'s pretty much been decided that 2 stroke engines are much more suitable for range extenders

I read an article about the drones used by the armed forces. Before deciding on the rotary as the power source they tried other engines, 2stroke and 4 stroke and the rotary came out on top in terms of all the tests. Wish I knew where I read it now.

Basically the rotary was better because of its weight, power output, useable with many different fuels etc, although the rotary engine used doesn\'t have Apex seals like ours but uses exotic materials that don\'t wear and the fuel lubricates the rotors. A shame they couldn\'t put these designs into the road goog rotors.

I am seriously considering putting HHO on my rotary.....myself and work mate have built 1 this week on nights and at 9 amps we were generating loads of HH0  (We\'ve been lighting it and goes off with a serious bang)....i see its been done before but fancy a small unit in the place of where the battery once was.....

should bring my emissions and temps down...and mpg up? Can\'t see a down side or will the 02 sensor rich up the fuel?
