hi all,
started my engine up for the first time today after doing a diy rebuild.
it is running fine no oil or water leaks from what i can see, but after running for a while my red oil light came on.the wire that goes to the oil sump is not connected it has snapped off the sencor, there was a lot off creamy stuff on oil filler cap, but none in oil.  thanks

could using the wrong oil cause the oil light to come on ie causing wrong oil pressure

i had a similair problem to this years ago when rebuilding a crossflow engine, dont have concrete proof of this but i do think that putting fully synthetic oil in was the cause

If there\'s no wire onto the pressure sensor i\'d say that\'s your problem. The sump i\'ve kept for you has a pressure sensor fitted so i\'ll leave that in at no extra cost for you as i\'m pretty much out of the rotary scene now so i won\'t be needing it :Santa
As for the oil make sure you\'ve filled with mineral oil especially if you\'ve gone to the trouble of rebuilding it!
Dave.
