Due to my awful purchase of a "dodgy" rx7 and the fact the car has now cost double its purchase price ive kind of fell out of love with the rx7. And ive not even frigging driven it.... lol...
Im going to be scared to drive it as i cant afford anything else to go wrong so im seriously thinking of selling and i know the market is terrible so maybe even break her if i can get anywhere near the money ive spent!!! and get a 32 GTR....

Ill be picking the rex up Thursday..

Thoughts????

I think you can get a stinker of a car what ever it is. Not trying to rub it in but my fd has not just been best car it\'s been most reliable. I\'ve had Hondas with endless problems so it goes to show you never know what your going to get.
Before you pack up the 7 completely try driving it and enjoying it, you never know once you get it back it might be completly fine.

Mate, did you rebuild it? Or used a second hand engine to get it up and running. If its a rebuild engine and done by Pip, then I do not see any reason for worrying!! Pip knows his stuff and he will warranty your engine for 1 year.

No need to worry mate:cheers

Cheers

Skybuses can break just as easily. I was weary about driving my fd when I broke it but I took it easy and got a feel for the car, running temps etc, then I gave it stick a bit at a time until I was smashing 8,000 rpm in every gear including 4th which is 140mph. Didn\'t ever have a problem, the engine was good. Still running now in another persons hands who has just bought it from the person I sold It too.

FDs are a better looking car than an R32 any day

GrimR33per

True. Lol.... I have also been looking at 33 gtrs aswell..

I bought a second hand engine thinking it would be cheaper as I was told 500 Ono for fitting... But it\'s pretty much worked out the same as getting it rebuilt on the invoice. Hayward built the replacement which has done around 6k.  I am looking forward to picking her up though..  Crazy how much I\'ve spent on it already!!! And I know I won\'t get that back if I sold up now..

..  Lol

Never sit down and work out how much you have spent, ever! Should be a better drive than an skybus unless you spend huge amounts on the r32. And as for reliable, i lost 7grand on a bug eye subaru with relatively few mods so makes no difference what performance car you buy.

I\'ve owned a supra, r33 sline, evo 7, fto even a show winning and mag featured veilside 350z. None of those cars ever came close to the feel and excitement of an rx7. Since I took the plunge ive owned 4, only selling due to personal circumstance and financial issues. I\'ve since just bought my 5th one and I tell you, I\'ve missed the smile that stretches across my face when I\'m sat in one. Ironically pip has rebuilt this engine and if feels solid...if he is doing yours I wouldn\'t worry one bit, your gonna love it!!

Realistically buying your first rx7 is the hardest thing, but once you know what to look for, you\'ll find one that hasn\'t been abused or neglected. Given, the rx7 requires more care and attention but if you look after it, it will look after you :)

I got a lemon too.... And thought the same

But sorted it out, and enjoying it now, big single turbo and Bridgeport idea is stuck in my head tho

GrimR33per

Lol.. its just not getting any better yet...

Wanted to plug my CD player in and im not surprised i got one that was broke and not plugged in... Who ever did the electrics on this car is a complete and utter retard!!

mart

Like everyone else has said mate you can buy a lemon no matter what, but i have the attitude to jump right in and sort it, only then will you know that most/everything has been done, nothing else can go wrong and start to build your confidence back in her. We cant all have the benefit of experience when we buy for the first time so we pay a price. Granted that can be a bigger lesson for some than others, such is life hey.
Stick in sort her budy.

Natthapon

Put it down to bad luck, Either get it the way you want it and enjoy it, or cut your losses and sell it on..

Problem with buying a car second hand, There\'s always a reason there selling it.

Cashpoint

I came from Supra, Evo and Skyline ownership though the others were fun the weight of my FD I love.
