Your picture shows the rear tyre as having some negative camber, I\'d expect this to be honest. It is to aid grip under cornering loads. As you corner hard the car begins to roll or lean to one side and the suspension goes into compression. As the suspension compresses the camber (tilt) of the wheels on that side will alter. It will try to push the top of the wheel further out than the bottom.
This can reduce grip. To counter this change in camber you set the car up with a ddegree of static negatvie camber (whihc is what you have there), so that as the car corners and the suspension compresses the tyre contact patch on the road remains flatter and large enough to provide good grip.
The FD suspension has adjustments to dial in a degree of static negative camber on both front and back.

It\'s worth gettign it checked, but more for toe in/out and similar issues than the camber. They would make the car much worse.
What you have there is going to aid rear grip, not reduce it. The only downside is that the negative camber means your tyres wear on the inside edge faster when travelling straight. traction in a straight line will be reduced slightly as well - so if you are goiing to the drag strip you don\'t want any static negative camber.

Quote from: WarthogThe difference between taking your FD to a tyre place and taking it to the RX8 Race Team, TVR, Lotus, BMW, Porche race car specialists is as far apart as we are from the Sun.
If you put Steves name into Google you get about 25 pages just on him and his wins as a Race Driver.
He was actually the Racing Driver Mazda used in this country to review & try out the FD when it was first launched in this country.
He did my setup in 2005 and then took it out at the Bedford track ( 4.2 miles long ) on a test & tune day for the RX 8 Race cars. I sat there as a passenger and could not believe that my FD was carving it\'s way through every supercar etc on track. It was fantastic.
He gave me two settings for Road and Track use. Top man.
Pistonheads rave about his attention to detail and qualitity customer service.
Mazda used him to test out the new 3 at the Ring, he is the God of TVR\'s etc. The list just goes on and on.
He took 2nd at time attack last weekend in a little Lotus against an 800bhp Scoobie running NOS as well.
What he does\'t know about setting up a car is not worth knowing.
Your choice mate, quick fit or quality.

I know which I go for every time and it\'s not the Chav one.

Believe me, I\'d love to have my car looked at by someone of his stature!!

Yeah, I knew a little bit of negative camber is standard but just wanted to make sure it hadn\'t been setup for a purpose which I was now not using it for (if you get what I mean)... I get the impression if was pushed har din a previous life  :Viking

I did pop along to Discount Tyres in Worthing, who have an OK rep locally, and they loaded the stock FD tracking alignment settings into their laser aligner so I could see what was up... you\'re right of course, some negative camber is usual - indeed there is an envelope which the road car should lie within...

I did needs ome toe adjustment, but it wasn\'t as far out as I had worried...
I got the negative camber reduced a little, if only to reduce excessive tyre wear...  it was good to know it wasn\'t totally shot anyway  :Thumbs-up
