Quote from: billybobbooth;790189A drag car uses normal 2 bovs  to get rid of all the air between the tb and intercooler.
Why the hell they would do that? Do you actually know what are you talking about?:Grrr

Quote from: billybobbooth;790189I\'ve worked for a tuning company we did quite a few tests on this. Bottom line is no you don\'t have to have one but it helps 2 is better than one but 1 is better than non unless your running things like methanol where you don\'t even need intercoolers

What?! How it helps? In what?:2Confused
Just face it, you don´t know anything about turbocharging as whole and just pushing your opinion:Talking1

If you would really do some tests you would see that there is zero impact on compressor deceleration and as some people already pointed out - they gained response without one:spank

Recirculating valves have only one reason - on older MAP based cars its purely NOISE suppression, on MAF cars its same reason + to keep MAF happy

Only reason I can see for running a BOV on, let\'s say a pro mod twin turbo drag car, if they get massive tyre shake and have built up 20psi on the start line from their 2step, and lag, whatever name you want to call it. Their run would be ruined any way so might as well release all that pressure built up and just cruise up the strip on tick over.

Also a BOV in this instance will be good for when the parachute is deployed over the finish line, release all the boost and shut down the engine. To save it for the next run and ready for a close inspection.

I ment to put turbo not intercooler on the bit where it says tb and intercooler.
I was using methanol as an example that running different fuels changes the things you need on a car.

Like i said its not the law that if you don\'t have one the world will end. I or you will never convince all the people if they should or shouldn\'t have one.

As for 80s rally cars they still run antilag and all the air going back in the world isn\'t going to slow a turbo spinning with anti lag force againt it. But on the other hand rally turbo only last high 100 low 1000 miles coz of it.

And yes not having a bov does slow the turbo spinning a little as the air only has 1 way out and it doesnt matter what anyone says that\'s what the air wants to do is get out. There are only 3 ways to stop it spinning slower 1 antilag 2 full throttle shift and 3 a bov. Only the last to help the air get out the first helps keep the boost in the piping.

Billy I think we agree to disagree, I have a bit more experience in the mapping and drag racing game then you, BOVs in the real world slow down spool up due to having to re pressurizing the pipes as you have dumped all the air out.
