Guys,

The rear window/screen exterior rubber which goes all around the glass is in a bad way on my car. Its lifting up here and there and is quite perished so i was going to go around it with a gun and black sealant to get it all back down and tight but think it might become a botch job very easily.. Recently i saw an rx7 with older than mine with an immaculate and wider rubber fitting perfectly.
Can you go to someone who makes these to fit your rear window perfectly and if so does anyone know a place or have had it done?

thanks for any info

Hi Peter,

You can buy a genuine one direct from Mazda but expect to pay over £80 from memory.  Best bet is to take your car to windscreen specialist and see if they have a trim that is the same/similar.

I would recommend you using the genuine one. Ive tried after market versions and they peal off and leak!

They arent cheap....but I always carry a front and rear in stock

Hi, how easy is it to fit a new one?
Thanks

Not something I would recommend doing yourself.  I have a local windscreen fitter I use.

Isn\'t it the rear that something like a Transit rubber fits?

Thanks... I thought that you might say that!

Think its the Mondeo one Si, Like I said, worth trying a windcreen place first and get a price before pulling your trousers down and getting a Mazda one!

I just took mine off when i was repainting the boot lid, mines in good condition so i am just going to run a bead of black silicone in the groove & put it back on
