Hello there! Im sure some of you have met me at some of the meets or shows recently and i think ive been here long enough to justify a build thread! So here it is....

Acquired this RX7 in current state of tune at the end of April 2011.

My plans are...
 - More power
 - Wider stance
 - road legal Drift setup

At the moment its pretty stock apart from a few select options...
  • Kandy Pink 17" Speedline Alloys
  • XS Power larger intercooler
  • Apexi Power FC and Commander
  • Tein Superstreets
  • HKS Hi-Power Exhaust with de-cat
  • HKS crappy sponge air filters
  • 99 Spec Turbos
  • Smoked indicators etc...

I have already bought some wider arches for it in the form of a Mazdaspeed Kit. This is it trial fitted...

I also going to go down the routes of fitting a rear diffuser to add some downforce as currently the rear is producing nowt (great fun on motorway drives...... NAAAAT)

Will update this tread as more plans appear in the pipeline...

Cheers

Tom

If Ur after a road legal setup. Come look at mine it\'s a time attack car with 2 way diff twin plate cutch and fly off hand brake. Guy I got it from (friend) had it setup for drifting by dragon.

UPDATE: - Copied from another forum i\'m on

Today I took apart the Rex to replace the downpipe. It\'s a git of a job due to the fact the heatshield covers the downpipe bolts, and the steering rack is right in the way. I may have bent it trying to get the old downpipe off. :( Will find out soon enough! As I had to remove so much to get to the downpipe, I saw this as an opportunity to remove the air pump which is obsolete now as the cat has been removed. Gives a bit more room in the engine bay and less drag on the engine. :D I trial fitted my spare wheels, Advan SA3/SR3 (I can never remember) as well to check fitment and they look good too. Thinking of having them painted either hi vis yellow or the same pink as the speedlines.
Pics to follow...

The removed air pump MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

The naughty silenced decat and the new replacement, Now why would anyone fit one of these? ;)

A rough idea on how the car could look with the advans in candy pink and the bodykit (unpainted) lol. Tempting :D

[UPDATE]

Had the car up on the ramps today as I FDUK-ed up re-aligning the steering rack and also wanted to change the fuel filter... :D

NOT the easiest job in the world...

As you all probably know fuel filter is located ABOVE the diff, between the boot floor and the diff. The easiest way to change it would have been to drop the diff, but as this wasn\'t an option we went for the hard way. This took 5 hours and may cups of tea and swearing...

It has now been changed but due to getting in a mood with it is now held in place with cable ties and Alas I have decided to relocate it to INSIDE the boot were the tool kit is usualy located, so will be purchasing a relevant aftermarket fuel filter soon.

The engine is back together and running well but have a suspect coolant leak from the turbo actuator which im gunna keep an eye on. I freaking love the new increased noise from the unsilenced decat  :D  Woop! And the turbo does seem to spool up easier with the new FEED downpipe which is a bonus!! While i had the car in bits i fitted an alloy AST. Also the obligatory coolant flush and change and pink hoses :)

Next on the agenda is the fuel filter relocation, and getting a wideband o2 sensor.

Cheers

Just come back from Eurospec 2000 from having my first dyno run!

And must say im quite pleased with the results!! :D

First image is vid below...

The printout!

The ink ran out printing the last page...

The IC was getting quite hot and the coolant temp reached 104 celcius so first priority is a "proper" front mount IC and the biggest rad i can fit!
