Hey guys, well I have put my fd into the garage for 2 months as I went travelling over the summer, I disconnected the battery to prevent it being drained, but now I\'m extremely worried because I have just read on here about the 3k shutdown for letting the fuel escape prior to leaving it stored.. I didn\'t perform this procedure, I haven\'t started the engine yet but it has had a recent rebuild and started strongly hot or cOld... Have I ruined my engine :\'(

Did you drive the car and got the car up to temperature before shutting the car down? The issue is the neat fuel sitting in the housings eating away at the rubber seals, usually happens on jap imports when they are loaded onto the boat and shut down whilst cold and then sitting on a boat for weeks.

The car was at operating temp the last time it was shut down, I always let it idle with the fans on for a couple of minutes in my driveway with the fans on before I turn her off, when I restart her is there any significant signs to look out for.. Thanks for the help I worry a lot

Absolutely nothing to worry about,  mine and many other sit for months over the winter without the 3k shutdown.

leave my car for months on end, starts fine every time (providing the battery holds a charge). nothing to worry about.
