Recently purchased an RX7 FD minus an engine and was wondering if someone could give me some advice regarding the electrics.

The previous owner had removed the wiring harness from the ECU to the passenger side of the engine bay and also the main harness (one with the battery connections), these have been reinstalled now.

As stated above I don’t have an engine fitted but have a battery, but when I connect the battery and harnesses back up none of the electrics are working.

Battery is ok, having been recharged recently and functioning ok in another car and also checked main incomer fuse (those attached to the battery positive side and they are ok also).

Any ideas to the cause of the problem would be appreciated, I am electrically minded so maybe thinking a grounding issue, but have grounded the connections attached to the two harnesses which were previously removed.

Anyone who is/ has undertaken a rebuild and remembers if electrics still function ok when engine is removed I would like to hear from you, cant see it being that though as individual engine sensors not being connected shouldn’t cause all the electrics on the car to fail.

Thanks in advance.

Michael.
