Starts next week guys, set the Sky+.

Last year of the 800\'s and looking at pre season testing it looks to be a promising close season, Pedrosa fully fit for what seems like the first time in ages, Rossi on an Italian bike etc

jetpilot

No enthusiasm this year guys?

We even have Crutchlow in there and he is not doing bad, especially considering a mullered finger and recovering shoulder!

Grant Monkhouse

Yes and Rossi is doing bad! Qualified 9th! Struggling with right hand bends apparently. Or he is not showing how fast his bike really is??

Handas new gear box! Derived from f1!

Im not sure you can believe anything Rossi says, he has been very clever with what he wants the press to write and say over the years! As you say, he may surprise us all and sure he will run near the top but i still think he has a lot of work to do to get that bike anywhere near how he wants it.

I would be seriously surprised if he wins a race this year, except maybe by default!

I get the feeling Honda want to win this year :Laugh

Grant Monkhouse

totally agree, There is a difference between rossi qualifying and his racing as, he doesnt like getting overtaken as he is the G.O.A.T (Greatest Of All Time) Im sure he will finish higher than 9th.

I think it will be between Stoner and Pedrosa this year, IF Pedrosa stops pushing above the limit and falling off like he did lasy year. Which was a shame.

Grant Monkhouse

Once ROssi has the bike working how he wants it im sure he will be unstoppable

There is a running discussion on here re the Ducati and its riders. There has been no one that has made that bike work and we are not talking 2nd rate riders, Hayden, Melandri, Cappirossi etc all but Stoner! Admittedly Rossi is legendary with advancements and setting up his chosen ride, however, just dont think it will happen with the Duke. Its often talked about that the Duke is far from a complete package, i just cant see Rossi beating Pedrosa, Lorenzo or Stoner on the Duke and dont forget, Losail suits the Ducati, if theres no advantage here its unlikely to shine elsewhere.

Happy to be proved wrong though in the spirit of good races :)

Yes but look at Rossigoing to Yamaha 7 years ago. They were absolutely pants and he took them to being the best there is, up until this year where Honda seem to be going to do prety good.

Well done to Lorenzo for splitting the Hondas though.

It seems to me that the Ducati is struggling for HP, which is strange as they are normally the ones with an abundace of it??! Last year i beleive Stoner was struggling with the chassis/suspension of the Ducati as they were the first team to use full C/F front suspension setup? I may be wrong, it was a while ago now.

The Ducati came good at the end of last year with Stoner winning and in fairness they are not down on hp, Barbera was clocking highest in the speed traps this weekend. As mentioned, Rossi turned the Yamaha into a quality bike, however, a lot of that was down to the invention of its flat plane crank (dont ask me, its only what the people that know speak of, lol)

Yamaha have got to be well chuffed with the result.

Good race and look forward to Jerez, should be a whole different play field.

jetpilot

Not quite the race i was hoping for, but the rain sure does make for an entertaining watch!

jetpilot

4 races, 4 different winners! Got to be good for the sport!

Got to feel for poor Danni though, after just getting over 1 broken collar bone, he goes and does the other one....

jetpilot

Oh dear, MotoGp descending into F1 farce with penalties being handed out willy nilly!

Lil-Steve

Are any of you guys off to Silverstone this weekend?

I\'m praying for sunshine at the moment it looks like the weather is going to be awful! :(
Lil-Steve is.... loving it when a plan comes together.

Great race at the weekend :)
