Nik da Greek

I can\'t help but notice that a recent thread which amounted to little more than a personal attack on me in reaction to a comment made on a totally separate forum has recently been removed from the boards completely.

One can\'t help but wonder if this has been done to spare the blushes of the moderator who initialised the thread, in I might add, a rather unprofessional and needlessly provocative fashion. Maybe even further conclude that this can only be a tacit statement that it was so utterly out of order that the usual excuse of "I was saying it as a club member, not as a moderator" won\'t even wash this time?

I had no problem with the thread being moved to the members section, and the mod team were civil enough to at least let me know. Given that it should never have existed in the first place though, is it not unseemly in extreme to re-write history to pretend that it never happened at all?

It is a fine irony that I have been marginalised for upsetting people on this forum with flippant and/or sarcastic remarks yet a spiteful, unecessary and petulant attack directed at me (a paying full club member) in abuse of a moderation position is allowed to be hastily marginalised and then erased as if it never happened. I would have thought maybe an apology would have been a more appropriate response?

Interested to see what the answers are...

I for one have to toatlly agree with what Nik has said here and do think a public apology to Nik would be right

I think that a line needs to be drawn under all of this and we move on.
This is after all a car club, not really too significant on the scale of things especially when you think of the earthquake in Japan which is readliy forgotten or the people who are starving in Africa, not to mention the wars going on around the world.

Remember we all have a common "Interest" rotary powered machines.
We should stick to that!

I am responsible neither for the starving in Africa nor the earthquake in Japan, Carl. I\'m happy to offer charitable donations to worthwhile causes, I don\'t see why that should preclude wasting five minutes of my time to write a question on a car club. If we did nothing but muse of fell deeds and bad tidings, we\'d all be working full time for Oxfam or Amnesty and not exploiting ever-decreasing finite planetary resources with ridiculously unjustifiable ecologically unsound vehicles and then posting about them on car forums. But I thank you for your input repsectfully as always.

Haven\'t forgotten your disc, btw, just taken ages sorting them all out :o.

Nik i think you need to be a little patiant :) , this is a moderating team and we have lives and jobs, but each situation need a lot of consideration and input from the team.
As we all work at different times its not always the quickest process for us to all get our views across.
Your posts and other are being discussed as we speak but patience is a must here.

There are moderators representing everyone here including yourself.

Also your jumping to conclusions, nothing has been dun to spare blushes.
Moderators posts are treated the same as members posts.
Remember we get nothing out of this, its voluntary, we pay our subs as members do and we dont get any privileges over members.
We also dont hold any mallace towards anyone and never take a biased view when discussing any reported posts or behavior on MRC.

..

Nik, I got back from an enjoyable day out with the club at Beaulieu and I looked at the site and deemed this now to be a personal problem  between two individuals that was intensely degrading for all concerned including MRC and I removed it with no consultation to the moderator team.

You have now had your answer and if you wish to pursue this please phone me.
I will now close this thread as enough damage unfortunately has been done to all concerned
All the best Clive
