I have removed everything required to lift the engine except disconnection from the gearbox, i assume its just a standard setup and all i have to do is disconnect all the bolts round the bellhousing and slid the engine away from the gearbox.

Or is there anything else i need to disconnect/look out for?

Anyone? Don\'t mean to be pushy but im intending to lift it out tomorrow morning... :)

Adam

Thats about right mate.... but there are some wires going to the gearbox plus a pipe from the cat.....make sure everything is disconnected.  Have you pulled the ecu loom through yet?

Hi Adam,

Cheers mate.

Ecu loom is ready to pull through. Have disconnected the cables, will do a final check before i take it out anyway.

Thanks

Have you undone all the clutch cover bolts and prised/pulled the clutch away from the flywheel????

If so and everything else is removed, then all you have left to do is jiggle it about until it comes loose then left away:bandit

Good luck, Paul:)

Not yet! Read somewhere this was necessary.

Why is this necessary to prize the clutch away from the flywheel? On cars i have removed the engine from in the past it was just a case of bellhouse bolts and split gearbox and engine.

It is a pull type clutch so basically you will need to move it into the bell housing in order for the engine to come out cleanly. It isn\'t difficult to do once the cover bolts are undone. Just de-press the clutch pedal a few times is one method.
