Quote from: Lacey;764721I just don\'t understand why anybody would PURPOSELY rust their car just to get the look, I mean it can look really cool, the FD looks really cool,

look , you answered it yourself

Lol, it just seems wrong to me to purposely rust up a car that you want to keep. :p

It\'s a drift car, it\'ll end up like Trigger\'s Broom pretty soon.

Apparently putting details of your car spec in your signature means the nice folks on exile-rotorsport think you\'re a fool.  I can think of no higher compliment!

Ahh, fair enough then I guess. :/

also worth realizing that its hardly a daily drive. I imagine this car gets absolutely spanked wherever it goes. Not to mention the look has probably got dragon a lot of publicity whether people love it or hate it.

I went onto the Fast car page to check it out a bit more. I\'ve got to admit, i love it. I\'ll admit i wouldn\'t do it to my car, but then i don\'t have capability or parts bin dragon have :p

I like the rat look where natural paint ageing, rust and patina is preserved, especially where the rest of the car is well restored, the contrast is cool.

But on the whole I\'m not sure the accelerated ageing of panels works so well. Whats notably the worst is brand new shiny VWs looking like a reps car but then with a really orange rusty bonnet. At least the Dragon FD has been done completely in the look.

Fair point. I love the look, and I\'d love to do it to an older car, like I said like an FB or something, but I\'d not want it to be real rust if that makes sense. It looks good, but I bet it\'s a real PITA to keep on top of and keep in it\'s current state, and stop from deteriorating the overall condition of the car because of it. :/

I\'ve always thought that too Lacey, wonder if anyone knows anymore about this?
