Straight through exhaust and a friendly MOT man for emissions is your best bet with the EGI, there are other random things you can do but not much that doesn\'t come without a hefty expense. Try and get / make a cold air box around your filter, will help wonders.

As for cold air, I have just fitted a replacement headlight cover on the drivers side, which has an air scoop to feed cold air towards the filter.  Came with the car so thought I would give it a try.
 
As for other worthwhile mods, the car handles a lot better with uprated anti roll bars.  I had these on my first EGI and when I bought Brett\'s I noticed a big difference without them.  Have since swapped them onto my new one and it is definately much better.
 
Some Hawk pads and braided hoses also improved the braking by a fair bit.
 
Will try and remember to look tonight.
