Brake upgrade

Ok guys here it goes .... I have a 92 fd and before I bougt it apparently the front brakes were upgraded but in my opinion they are rubbish my ford focus brakes work 100 times better . It already has braded hoses so ..... I was just seeing what peoples views tips and opinions are for upgrades bearing in mind I\'m looking to spend not a great deal of menu on them if possible and I have 17" on the at so I think 335mm is the biggest I can go .

Any help would be great .
