if you dont want to pay the extra money for braided hose and anodised fitings, you can do a simple cheap job with normal hose and steel fitting.  I went to think automotive (Mocal) with the engine fittings and they supplied me with the appropriate hose in black rubber (High pressure, high temp Oil hose) and all the fittings i needed.  The fittings are special push on ones, just dip the hose in a cup of hot water for a few seconds and push it on the tail.  The fitting is guaranteed for 200 psi which is more than enough, no clips required.  For their biggest oil cooler an oil thermostat, the hose and the fittings, it cost me less than £200, the stat was about £40 and the oil cooler was £100 ish so it gives you an idea of how cheap the fittings were. Also they had the correct fittings for the engines in either 90 degree or straight so no adapters required.  It looks smart and professional but without the bling factor. I got 5/8 hose and fittings which is slightly bigger than stock and it has made massive difference to my oil temps.

On track in the summer with the stock oil set up i could only do about 10 - 15 minutes before my oil temps were up above 115c, after the change i did a track day on the hottest day of the year and the temps didnt go above 95.

If you keep the stock cooler you could probably buy the fittings and hose for about £30 - 40 quid,  it cost me a bit more as i needed twice as many fittings as the thermostat needed another set of 4 fittings, they are about £5 each iirc.
400 BHP - 650 KG\'s = 616 BHP Per Ton of Rotary Power

That\'s the way to do it! :Thumbsup!

Which oil cooler did you use-I\'m not convinced about the condition of the TII one I\'ve got so wouldn\'t mind a back up plan. Thanks for that though-good to know there is a cheaper option that still looks like a proper job as I\'d rather save money on the hoses and leave room in the budget for a new cooler.

thats exactly what i thought.  I went for the 50 row 115mm wide,  it will be plenty big enough,  im running over 350 hp.

You could possibly get smaller depending on your use and the position,  its more important to get the size and shape that you can fit in and get a good flow of air to it.

Just had a look at my friends rally car, he runs a Mocal-nice looking little cooler seems well made. Positioning wise it\'s a free for all between everything there at the moment so just gonna have to make it up as we go.
