True true, but plates can be skimmed, new housings acquired, and so forth - as long as you know what you are buying, then fair play.

There have been cases of stored cars being started after long periods of rest...

Absolutely.  But hence my original comment
QuoteOnly buy it if you\'re going to strip it to check for condition before serious use.
If you give this engine some welly (and who wouldn\'t ;) ) without stripping it first could be  a very expensive mistake.

Quote from: dthebuk;729132Even if the engine is duff it\'s still worth a fair whack. All hard bits of the conversion have been done for you.if there\'s not too much structural work done for the conversion you could just reshell. Mr hanky I vote you do it!! Probably cheaper than going pp!

Lol, probably would if I could matey :)
Still looking to go bridge or pp in the future, but need to save pennies

Join the sweepstake in the 1st gen section-and win nothing! But just think how proud you\'ll feel.

As sais,.. I called RX Motors and they have offers (non Ebay) of more than 2500pounds and more. I don\'t think they\'ll be letting it go for less.

For those who are looking after a 20B, RX Motors also seems to sell 20B\'s long blocks, also from 2500 pounds and onwards. So contact them if you really want one.

That might be what they are expecting but it\'s not really up to them - it\'s a "no reserve" auction.

Personally, if I really had an offer on the table of 2,500 I\'d take the money and run, and cancel the auction.
