I have noticed that a few people have painted the block of the their engines (rotor housings, plates) I was just wondering what paint they used.  I have some heat resistant stuff but only safe for 120 degrees.  Any idea how hot these engines get :)

Cheers

Exhaust and turbo temps will be a lot higher than that, i would assume the housings will too. Unless im wrong, anyone?

You can get Heat resistant paint at Halfrauds from about £6-£10 per tin it comes in spray form and tins. Think you will be safer with that. Im sure it goes up to something silly like 1000 degrees..

Adam,

You can buy engine block specific paint (i.e. designed to handle the temp of an engine block), halfrauds do sell it but only in a few colours for about £10 per tin. For my old GTT I got some stuff from Motorworld in baby blue :cool and was only a fiver. I\'ll have a look tomorrow to see what make etc it is, although i\'m sure most branches of motorworld should stock it.

Regards,

Paul

yeah.... been to halford but they have only got red and black....  black is ok, but i also wanted blue.  Have to have a look round.  Found a kit at demon tweeks but it\'s 25 quid a tin :(

you need to get yourself to a scottish halfrauds then! red, black, blue and silver.

Do they have an online service?
