putting a fc3s engine into a fd, what i need to know is will a fd gearbox bellhousing fit a fc gear box, thanx for any info

BlitzBoy

why would you put an FC engine into an FD? , the first problemn you have is that the engine mountings on the engines are different so you would need to modify that, also you will need to change the front cover as well as the ignition systems are different.
Cant answer the gearbox question because no one I know in the UK has done this backwards conversion.
Lot of hassle for no gain dude you will be losing power as well if its just stock for stock.
Are you keeping the twin turbo pack?

because the fd has a blown engine, the fc engine is not stock has a big turbo kit, so wont be keeeping the twin turbos,

BlitzBoy

well your biggest thing will be the engine mounting points, one has the mounts fitted to the rear plate of the engine the other the middle, so you going to have to do something custom here, you will need to change the front cover if you are keeping the FD ignition system.
You may need to port match the FD intake manifolds (LIM) to the FC ports as they are different size

I think you will be ok with the FD gearbox and bellhousing as the FC rear plate has the same mounting bolt holes as the FD
