Radio antenna problem

The cable that connects to the back of the radio for the antenna was damaged when we got the rex. When we were getting the alarm fitted the guy noticed this & repaired the cable. Bout a month ago we could not get a radio signal & the antenna would not go up when the radio was on.
 
I took the radio out & the cable had come loose where it was previously damaged, I repaired it & fitted it & it worked.
 
I have now noticed that the antenna will go up & down when the ignition is on but once the car is started it wont budge
 
Any ideas??
