I filled up with BP Ultimate last week (I know it not the best premium), and ever since the cars been acting strangely, before there was a definite kick between turbo’s, since filling up its now unnoticeable, as if it stays on one turbo throughout. It’s also reluctant to rev, red lining take real effort and fells like there’s no power past 6,000 and in addition to all this I seem to be getting boost spikes at around 5,000.

Could this all be down to the fuel, as it seems coincidental as it all started immediately after filling up?  Has anyone else experienced anything similar? I’m now getting very worried there’s something amiss in the rats nest.

I think your issue is the fact that the fuel quality/octane rating is too low for the car to effectively perform, the standard ecu is mapped for jap fuel at an octane rating of 102 minimal, so Bp ultimate is max 98 is going to really put a dent In performance, however you should still feel second turbo to an extent, or maybe the ecu is retarding ignition due to levels of knock your engine is seeing.

Best bet is too throw some v-power in there and possibly so octane booster/ injector cleaner, see how your engine performs and report back.

Cheers for the reply rx7boy, unfortunatly there are no Shell garages near me so the best I can do is tesco 99 (which is what I usually use), which I\'ll try tonight.

I know BP Ultimate always gets slated, so hopfully it was just a bad batch and no lasting damage has been done. The cars in for its service on saturday so I\'ll get it checked out.
