Installing a Aftermarket Fuel Prssure Reg HELP

Yesterday I went about installing an uprated pump into the tank which I

believe was all successful after following the brilliant How To .:D:D

I now have the issue of installing the FSE fuel pressure regulator that I have.

First things first I will show what I have parts wise.

The model I have is the

It has the 8mm union barb fittings instead of the -6an fittings in the one pictured.


I then bought the FSE fuel rail adapter from Bay of E which looks like the pic below


I plan on buying a guage to show the fuel prssure, but not sure if in the

intall I need both inlets into the regualtor as would then get an inline, or if

i only need one inlet then, i could by a 1/8npt guage :confused:



I was hoping someone could please either make a drawing :D or describe it

very simply how to install the regulator that would be supperb.:D

one thing I have to my advantage is I have no rats nest as im running non sequential.:D:D:D

Any help would be greatly appreciated, and if anybody is near by and want to pop down and give me a hand then im sure some beers would be on order.:cool:

My last question is can the stock regulator take the increased flow from a 345 lph pump (overkill i know) ???:eek::eek:


Someone is bound to say that

"if you dont know what your doing then stay away from the fuel side of the car"

Ah see now this depends on your set-up or what your set up will be.

The fuel rails usually work in series, i.e. fuel lines come from the fuel tank in to the primary fuel rail and then round to the secondary fuel rail ending up at the FPR: therefore you only need to use one of the lines in and blank the other one.

Having said that you can run the rails in parallel, by getting a splitter block before the primary fuel rail and running a line to each fuel rail, in which case you would need to use both lines in.

What is the rising rate of that FPR? 1:1 or 1.7:1?

Im not sure on the rate on the regualator, will need to read up on it, the only thing I do know is that it is constant pressure regulator which is normally only for racing applications, I bought it off another member not really knowing much about it :spank

Im not sure its really the unit I should be running and if not then I will buy another but just hoping not to go through the hassel of double spending

Thanks Gonzo, Im going to be keeping it in series as that seams the cheaper option.

Just got to work out now if I have the right regulator up for the job in hand :xconfused

Just had a look on the PDF, if the FSE is black its a 1:1 rate, which is good :) its also tested 10 bar fuel pressure!

The regulator is the Model RPR001, hopping this is all good then :Thumbsup!

On a side note, what is a good base pressure to set at idle without vacume line attached? keeping in mind that the car has to be driven for a day before it can get to Jaydee for mapping

I think on idle it should be at about 40psi or so, check the hayne manual :) I know that when Bish had issues with his idle, he adjusted it to about 40psi and it smoooothed out :)

I think with the FSE FPRs you install the gauge temporarily to set it up, then remove it, might be an idea to get an electrical gauge for in the car if needed as a high fuel pressure won\'t do the injectors any good lol

Yeah, was planning on getting an electronic fuel pressure guage, not sure what make to get tho as, obviously I want something thats gonna give me a reliable reading without being silly money.

Injectors wise, im either going to have them flow tested will all the replaceable bits replaced or gonna get some new injectors, not planning on running bigger that stock as there is no need as im still on twins. The fuel pump was just a safety measure as im going to be using the car soely for drifting so its gonna be high rpms at 0.8 bar so thought better safe than sorry.

Went and had a look at the the standard fuel setup today, and saw that there are 3 lines running under the car and connect up under the elbow, can anyone explain why there are 3, i thought there was just a feed and return as the standard system ran the fuel rails in series.

Which one is the feed, return and what is the other one ??
