Hi,

I\'m going to look at an RX7 I have seen for sale (sorry I don\'t have a link to the ad - its through a mate of a mate). However it does have an issue with it, apparently its hesitant under part-throttle between idle and 2500rpm. Its like it holds back and doesn\'t accelerate smoothly.

This does not happen under heavy acceleration or part throttle.

Any ideas what it could be? Its apparently been checked out by Dragon performance (anyone heard of them?) and he says its most likely the fuel filter needs replacing or it needs a remap.

The other issue is its been stood since december. Will this cause any problems?

Its obviously priced a lower then other cars in tip top condition and has some very nice bits on it. However I am wary of it becoming a money pit.

Bodywork/interior is very clean and its fresh import so no rust

If its gone to the trouble of going to Dragon and been diagnosed as a easy fix like that i\'d be asking why it wasnt fixed at the time... then again i could just be cynical

^ I concour with the above. Dragon is down on the south coast so it makes no sense.

These cars as everyone on here will agree are money pits. And buying a car with problems is asking for trouble. Unless its mega cheap Sub 2 grand then I would personally hold out for a good working RX matey.

The guy lives somewhere in Dorset so is not far from Dragon. And the reason he didn\'t get it fixed is due to finances hence it has been parked for 3 months.

Well that makes sense. If you are set on buying it, why dont you offer to pay to get it fixed before you drive to view it. Fuel filter or mapping would be sub £200 and it could save you alot of ££££££££££££££ in the future.

Isn\'t the infamous \'Oscar\' from around that way??

Phone dragon and ask them to confirm its been there. If he cant afford to fix it, How did he afford to take it there. Dorset is not that close to dragon.?
