I\'m relocating my battery to the boot but can\'t seem to find a decent source of 2 AWG cable? Checked a marine store and for 35mm2 (~2 AWG) wire it\'s £28/m

Also is 5m enough for the run from the boot to the engine?

Cheers!
Paul.

i have just run a 20mm cable to the boot from my battery going under the carpets and rear speaker cards to keep things neat and 5M was enough.

Just my 2p but I would say 20mm was cutting it really fine on a long run, you want as many of those precious volts as possible to make it to the starter.

Yep that\'s more than enough. I used 35mm2 which has been fine and was easy to run/bend, make sure you have good connections and good earths though. One last thing, make sure you use an in line fuse (at least) as close to the battery terminal as possible.

Brill thanks very much. Will a 120A fuse be sufficient?

Should be, try it first as the most current you will draw will be starting on a cold morning. You can always go up to say 150Amp if it blows. You really want to use the smallest capacity fuse you can reliably get away with. I use a 150Amp circuit breaker and a 200Amp fuse, it\'s never drawn enough current to blow the breaker and that’s on my LS1 V8.
I\'m guessing you will run it to the original Mazda main fuse feed on the L/H strut tower? From memory that\'s a 120 Amp isn\'t it?

Excellent. I\'ll get onto ordering a fuse and holder then I should have everything :)
