Hi Guys \'n\' Girlz,

I wonder if anyone could help me here. I have a budget of around about 12,000 and I am looking at purchasing a RX. Where are my best places to look so I do not get ripped? Are the Impoty companies worth looking at or should I buy private? What type of machine is the best i.e Typer R, Type S, FC, FD? It\'s all a litte complex. Also with no no claims bonus how much roughly for a 34 year old would insurance be fully comp? Sorry for all the Q\'s but I would really appreciate a little guidance if anyone has time to set me in the right direction and/or can be bothered typing.....

Thanks IN Advance,

Craig

Hi Craig :wave

Import companies are definately worth looking at, a lot of people (including myself) on here have used them and most are club members i think such as BNAEllis (think hes rotary imports). I\'ll let someone else list the rest cos I cant remember them all, I got mine through Newera Imports who have a good rep with 7\'s too.

FC = 2nd gen models which are the older shape, i presume with 12000 to spend your after the latest shape which is a FD.
They are called this because of the chassis no.s, FC3s 2nd gens, FD3s 3rd gens.
There are many different types if you go for an import, if you search through the buying guide section you should find the distinctions between them, if you get a UK model there is only one spec which is bascially fully loaded i think. From what i remember type rz is race model with red leather seats, better suspension and brakes (i think), type x fully loaded with cruise control and the like, then theres type r, r1 and r2, rb, s, maybe some more!

Insurance wise is anyones guess, if you become a club member there are a few places which operate a club discount, such as AON, chris knott, etc. Again if you do a search you should find some to try.

Hope this helps :D

Try the following:

//www.neweraimports.com
//www.linney.org
//www.dragonperformance.co.uk
//www.rotaryimports.com
//www.spimports.com
//www.autotrader.co.uk  - quite a few other links available through trader dealers website links.

Goodluck a budget of £12000 will get you a very good rx chap, also check the for sale section on this here forum.
