hi

was fiddling around with the car and removed the old immobilisor that has been intermittent and causing poroblems.  the old unit was cut in on three wires that run to the white plug on the ignition plug (right under the steering wheel)

the three wires that have been cut / butchered are:

black with red stripe
black with white stripe
black with light green stripe

can anyone identify which ones are what for me please? i know that interfering with the ignition wires is a bad idea on these cars!

cheers

thanks trotter ive been looking on page z 24 of that manual but not being the greatest at reading electrcial schematics im struggling to find what the wires actually do. cant find black and red one on there

My interpretation of that diagram is....

Black / white and black / light green lead to the starter cut relay - (that relay cuts the starter once the motor fires i imagine)

black / red is from the starter interlock switch (bottom of diagram) - i imagine this is the controller for the accelerated warm up feature disable (ie: starting with you foot on the clutch)

but i\'m a chemical engineer not electrical!! :D

Im not sure that the LHD diagram is all that applicable to RHD fds. I didnt think jap or UK fds had starter cut relays. If that is the case, then they dont have a starter interlock switch (similar to the park/neutral switch in an auto) either

hmmm the old unit was only soldered in line on the black with light green wire (constant power feed?) where as the other two wires had been cut and went into the immobilisor unit and then out again. did think maybe one was ignition , one starter motor and one ground or constant power feed?
