Personally I would stick with what is most common to avoid problems in future. I\'d get a PFC and commander. But you pays your money...

richrx

it can be a real pain getting things from the us, i\'d stick with a pfc and get it mapped, you\'ll get more power out of a pfc with less hastle.

cool my dad is goan buy a broken braketester whitch if u take the all the gears out you can use as a roling road but it dont give u hp and torq and all that jaz but it sould be good for mapping the car i hope wahre in uk could i get a pfc??? and how many penies we talking?

if your doing it that way, on rollers you\'ll need a commander, wideband and laptop also.

the ecu is £620 and commander£215 afaik.

it costs around 200-250 for it to be mapped by a specialists down south, and probably less hastle.

p.s remember when using a rr the FD will need a hell of a lot of cooling, so a home made rr could be bad i.e ANOTHER engine.

yonner

yeh we are geting  this big as bitch of a mofo of a fan lol it shifts 16000cfm lol it was originaly used to inplate hot air baloons.

how mutch trouble is it to map the ecu??? i aint gona take it down south every time i put a new mod on it

All the usual places such as Reworx all sell PFCs, expect a bit over 600 for the ECU and 200 for the commander.  I know someone down south will have one going spare soon which I believe is for an early car if that is of interest.

I fail to see how a brake tester could be of any use for mapping a car, ignoring the other hundred obvious flaws - what are you going to do for an air supply to the engine?

Forgive me for this; but how old are you? based on your typing/spelling/grammar I\'d be surprised if you were even 20.  You don\'t even have the car yet, wait until you have it, then drive it, learn both the car and your own limits before modding it.  The last thing the rotary community needs is another person buying a car, spending money on mods, then either wrapping it around a tree, blowing the engine, or having to sell it because they can\'t afford to run the car.

Programming through a commander will be very painful.  Geff at RE:Worx, like others, uses a Datalogit (about $400), which you connect your laptop to via eitehr a seiral of USB port (depending on version) - this is plugged in to the ECU.

To be honest, you do need a decent wide band O2 sensor for your base lines, else you\'ll struggle to do a decent, or maybe even safe, tune.

lol tbh we dotn wana do anythign with the ecu but it is called for lol therer is a proper rolign road on hamilton road glasgow but they specialise in fords i think my dad knows someone who works there mabe we could get in after hours or just pay and use it during the day :P

I don\'t know of any Rollers in Hamilton and I lived there for long enough.
I don\'t want to sound rude, but you should read up on what the problems can be with tuning the FD. MRC is very good for that but I would also recomend reading up on the RX7club in the US. Far more cars there and far more tails of woe.
Mines Black and dirtier than Donatos. But hey, no-one asked for a good clean fight.

wahre in hamilton did u live???

its not in hamilton its on hamilton road in glasgow

I\'ve often thought we aught to do a "word of the day slot".

Your right Roberto too many engies having to be rebuilt without anybody doing any mods!
