Im still new to my RX7 so go easy on a noob

Just been out for a long drive and the car was feeling awesome, and obviously too awesome! Stuck my foot down, shot of like a rocket then nothing. Revs dropped so fast I thought the engine had gone.

Started taking it slower and building up when I realised my boost gauge was reading way over its usual 10psi (that\'ll explain it going so fast then!)

Does the FD have a fuel cut on over boost? Is this likely to be why the engine virtually stop at WOT?

Is this likely to be a dodgy vac pipe (rats nest?) If so can someone explain where to look first?

I could be barking up the wrong tree so all suggestions welcome :yes

You have probably just hit the fuel cut mate,

check the rats nest first incase any hoses have popped off. Also check the actuators are moving with the key on/off test, have a search for the KOKO test or the actuator test.

I had a over-boosting issue on one of my FD\'s a few years ago and had to replace the boost-controller as it was not holding boost, so check that as well.

OK been out and had a look and im confused!

Can anyone locate a dummys guide to the rats nest and what pipes should be going where so i can check they are all correct and present?

CharlieP

Before you go to the rats nest...

Check on the two into one pipe that goes in to turbo. You can see it if you stand by the drivers side front wheel...just below where the y-pipe attaches to the turbo.

Mine had come out...they are only a pressure fit. Two of the pipes go to the actuators...which control when the next turbo should come in

Im still really confused over which pipe is which and quite where to start...

I have taken a few photos so hopefully you guys can point me in the right direction!

I have taken off one of the main inlet pipes off as you can see, just to allow you to see underneath.

So... correct me if wrong! In the most zoomed in photo there is the wastegate actuator with two vac pipes, where do they go and why!? Why is there two pipes?!

Where ever one goes another connects next to it and goes to one of the 2 release valves. The other is connected straight to the intake manifold.

Are these connected properly, which other pipes should I be checking?  Where is the "boost contoller" as mentioned above? And solenoids?!

Sorry to sound so stupid, if someone could tell me roughly how all the components connect and are supposed to work im sure i can figure it!!

Thanks again for you help!

CharlieP

Let me know your number...might be easier to explain as we both look at the car...

dan_miles86

Thanks for your help Charlie, is most appriciated.

It\'s zero, double seven, double three, two, eight, seven, triple six.

Sorry about writing it weird, just stops it being picked up!

Still stumped on this one :( Checked everything I can see, is there a specific area I should be paying attention too?

Someone must of posted a diagram of where all the pipes should go but im dammed if i can find one!

dan_miles86

Just found this for anyone else having a similar problem to me, looks a bit of a mess but will give it a go tomorrow!

That site explains things well, hopefully it\'ll be of use to others too
