Hiya,
I know Ive read on this forum that the third gen RX7 accepts 6 x 8 speakers in the rear quarts.  But I have since been informed by the gents at Sextons that it takes 5 x 7\'s and Ive even been told that 6 x 8\'s and 5 x 7\'s are the same thing (which I dont believe for a second as the name surely refers to the size of the rear cone).  Can anyone shed some light?  Im off to buy some speakers tomorrow.
cheers  :)

5 x 7\'s fit.  I\'ve done away with the rears cos when the boot opens any water runs off the boot onto the speakers.  Components in the front sub and amp in the boot, sink some tweeters into the doors - they sound great.

cheers Gman.  Having built my fair share of custom I.C.E. installs in the past, I cant be assed to do it again!  so Im gonna do just as you recommend.  Simple but effective.   Thanks again

Good on ya, also the rears are a bitch to replace as you have to take half the interior out!

Im in the middle of a custom install, and im putting 6.5" coaxials in the rear, 6.5" components in the front, 2 amps and a sub.

If your sinking tweeters into the doors place them near the shoulders of the seats, the door panel curves slightly so you get great sound direction,

i am putting the tweeters in the corners of the dash, i know its obvious but i prefer the sound that way.  It will be a little classier than tweeters stuck to the dash with doublew sided tape though :)

In the doors allow you to here them better, down to personal opinion though.  Let us know how it goes - i want pics.

at the minute ive stripped the interior and laid sound deadening everywhere.  The sub is gonna weigh the car down no-end so im making it so its easy to unbolt and unload for some track time.
Its gonna look very special in time for JapFest and Rotorstock.
