looking at some new plugs and ive seen some posts on these but dont know how good they are.

i found them here

http://www.spark-plugs.co.uk/pages/technical/ngkiridiumxref.htm

and they seem to have an iridium alternative. These are described as racing ones and also the people over in AUS on their forums seem to rate these plugs.

I didnt want to get them before i posted but with the Aussies saying they\'re good and being 1/4 the price it seems strange that no one else on here has said much about them.

Using these NGK B10EGV racing plugs( single electrode) for 13Bbp motors for years, very good, cheap but short life!

how short are you talking as the iridiums i have lasted 5K miles?? Mine is a single tubby fd

Using these in the Cosmo with no problems at all. I used two sets last year not that there was any problems with the first set after 2500 miles just that there so cheap couldn\'t see any point taking a chance with them. Upon inspection on removal they where still like new but changed them anyway. The Ausies are using them in mega high boost/power engines without issue so i\'d say you where pretty safe with them.

Do you need to use a very thin wall socket to fit them Kev?

Yes just get a normal spark plug socket and take the shoulder off on a grinder on the bottom 4mm right to the point your breaking through, dont worry about weakening the socket as the housing stops it opening up under load. I\'ve a mini lathe now so i\'ll get round to turning a socket down properly one day.

--- i have seen a few lately with very inconsistant factory set,,
so check and gap them to 0.70 mm for street turbo applications ( less for higher boosts )
-- B*EGV lately have been coming in around 0.60mm,, old sets where a little wider

also,, your can use B*EG as a cheaper alternative,, and i think the iridiums suck BTW
