The leaking oil is still a continuing saga as the oil cooler I got was leaking not as much as the one it came with, but about 1 cc per day. I changed the copper washers with new Mazda ones this morning, taking care not to overtighten the bung and used the two wrench method. Sure enough still leaks as there is a crak on this one two. .... off does not even begin to cover how I felt, sufice it to say that they must have heard me all the way to Dorset. Perhaps is the fact that most oil coolers are 20 odd years old, bur it seems all are brittle. At the moment I also used a piece of rubber hose and two jubilee clips to hold the leak even more and wrapped a microfiber towel around the pipes and is held in place by two cable ties holding up the leak! How is that for enterprising!

It was a bit of a Priceless Moment!

Anyway I got later first gen cooler system as well and I am considering even goin to that!!!

Other than that how about something like this:

Someone mentioned and FC oild cooler, and I read a post about someone doing it in the US, but that would probably turn into a right .... up.

Any opinions on this matter apprecieted.

On a plus note I managed to seal ald the areas that needed sealing and eliminated as much rust as could be seen from all the wheel arches etc. I had to removed the mud flaps, a few of the bolts snapped. As the rust seemed to be around this I will leave them off as they were attracting lots of water.

I replaced the rear speakers with working ones as the old ones had lost the cone surround. Interior was cleaned, btw I removed a small clump of dead bees from a hole in the rear bench one of them was huge. I repositioned the rear panels that were off. Reinstalled the rear seat back the right way. Threw away torn and smelly rear insulation and trated the car to a quick detailed.

On the wheel front I terated the to some new Yokohamas and they are an improvement ride wise.

Here are a few snaps I took with my mobile:

Once again people, any ideas on what to do regarding the oild cooler highly appreciated!

Big thanks to member Mark for explaining how he managed the 2nd generation cooler sawp. I am looking forward to that.

In the mean time a local shop relieved me of £ 30 pounds for a blog of aluminium on the side of the bung where it cracked, and it now seems to be OK. Thanks God for that as I was starting to think the Saga was never going to stop!

Cheers,
