Hey,

As part of my drift car build im looking to upgrade the brakes on my FC T2 as they are currently SHOCKINGLY bad!!

at the same time i am breaking my previous drift car (200sx s14) but I have skylineGTR R33 discs/calipers and pads on it..

Now in the \'interchangeable thread\' it says \'skyline brakes with modifications\'... does anyone have a guide/pics/info on this swap, how easy it is etc??? Because i will have to drive to where the s14 is currently stored, strip off the brakes etc... and its along way!!!

if its too much effort im either gonna get new standard discs/pads or find an off the shelf upgrade for the FC somehwere and get that.. Ideally I need the upgrade on by this saturday is that will be the cars first outing to see what needs to be done to it next.

cheers
Phil

I think for the swap you need to fabricate a bracket to move the calipers further out, but to be fair, if you get some better disks, pads, braided lines and bleed the whole system, the stock 4pot calipers are pretty good

i agree ,fc calipers are very good just need the right stuff around them,

Check out motorsportworld:

I checked them a bit back, go for the black diamond disks, grooved, both front and rear sets of disks came to just under £300, thats the route im going, but remember to bleed the brake system and put in new fluid, fluid breaks down after time, especially if used a lot like in drifting.

yep, brake fluid turns bad very fast under heavy braking, very important change it often if you are drifting or racing of any sort, dont go for cheap stuff, one track day on my bike and the break fluid is feckt,it heats up big time, not good,

Ive got braided lines on all 4 corners.. and to the hydro handbrake..
system has been bled several times but the hydro is not doin fek all. :(

hense why we think new pads/calipers/discs. I think I may just replace the rear calipers.. the FC I bought had been sat static for a year or more.

I\'ll check out motorsport world now, but Where else can I order new  uprated pads and discs that will fit an FC? Is it like my s14 where I can change discs/pads without having to bleed brakes.

looking for next day delivery if possible. thanks.

Are the calipers ok then? I know that sometimes they sieze on the bottom pot of the front caliper, I think Mazda rotary parts do disks as well as pads, most fast road users seem to go for Black Diamond Disks with Hawk Pads

Are the brakes doing anything in normal mode ie just heavy right foot? Looks like one of the calipers is not doing its job correctly or even the master cylinder. Had this on mine but just ripped everything apart, cleaned and refitted and it was all ok. Especially the master cylinder as that does get some abuse from the heat of turbo etc so tends to break down inside. Seals have to be good inside to do their job properly.
